The Altar Ministry is the point of contact to the person who made a decision to receive Jesus as their Lord and Savior. Those who participate in this ministry are used of the Lord to pray and encourage those who chooses to follow after Christ Jesus. Every member of our team receives training to be able to perform their duties with confidence and a spirit of excellence.
The altar worker must be ready at all times to render assistance to the pastor or speaker whom may ask a worker to come up and lead a person to Christ or escort them back to the altar room where further ministry is needed. It is here we often see people filled with the Spirit and healed of ailments when providing basic follow-up information.
If you love to encourage and pray for people on a one-to-one basis, this could be the place for you.
Understanding that initial impressions are often lasting ones, we exercise our roles as ministers by inspiring a warm and inviting atmosphere, one in which anyone will be able to sense the presence and the love of Jesus Christ upon entry; first time visitors will feel like family. Knowing that “[a] word aptly spoken is like apples of gold in settings of silver” (Prov 25:11), greeters are not only prepared to offer timely words of encouragement and love, but they also serve as sources of information where knowledge about the Church’s other ministries can be readily obtained.
Many a visitor has become a member because of Greeters! If you are a warm and friendly person who loves to meet people and is good with names, join us!
While the primary responsibility of the hospitality team is to serve delicious meals to our guest ministers immediately following services they are here for; we do much more. LCC’s Hospitality team presents and prepares plates like a professional chef would, so if enjoy preparing savory food like being around the kitchen or even washing dishes, then this could be the place for you.
Duties of the Usher 1. Greet worshippers, making every attempt to help them feel welcome and at ease. 2. Escort members and guests to their seats. 3. Distribute materials related to the service/meeting such as bulletins, handouts, etc. 4. Receive certain offerings, delivering them to the treasury department of the church. 5. Maintain an alertness for any emergency that may arise, relieving the need or contacting the person(s) needed to provide the proper assistance. If you are both faithful and friendly, we are looking for men like you!
